Leman Learning profile

In my EAL class. We investigate the Leman Learner profile. Leman Learning profile is a profile that tells you what you should become while you are in Leman or what you should become already.

The method to investigate profile was cut all the definitions of the word and if that definition fit on you write yes on edge of your paper if not write no and of you can’t decide write maybe on it. When you finish cutting and writing now you can find the right word for it and stick on to the paper in right order.

In my profile, I got first and second for open-minded and reflective.

“Open-minded” means to understand the difference between my perspective and the other people and the final aim is to grow my point of view by the experience. I think this fits me because I think I understand the difference of my perspective and other people. For example, my perspective grew when I left Korea because I experienced western culture in our school.

For “reflective”, it means Knowing my strength to challenge something. For example, I learned cello and now I can play some music but still can’t read low notes and can’t play fast. So I need to learn how to read low notes and play faster. Reflective means Knowing what you can do and what you can’t do.

I chose “courageous” and “Innovative” for my last two because I think these two do not fit me.

For “courageous” it means adapt with unfamiliar situation like if I change my school to another I might not be able to adapt to that school, but overcome it by being brave. I chose this as my least fitting attribute as I didn’t adapt to Leman in my first year, but now it’s okay, and I think I adapted to here.

My other last, was innovative. It means to think in many different ways. For example, I sometime can’t think clearly when I am doing my work.

I completed this profile in my EAL class and I learnt where I fit and what I am not good at. So I think I need to focus on what I am not good at when I am doing a work.

ACAMIS in Shanghai

Our school Leman international school in Chengdu, Sichuan in in ACAMIS silver division. ACAMIS is a competition with some other international schools in china to improve the skills and sportsmanship between each other. Jack, Josh, King, Victor, Alic, Ian, Taewoong, Henry, Cole and me from Grade 8-10 who play soccer went to Shanghai, Pudong from Chengdu, Sichuan to participate ACAMIS soccer on April 23th to April 26th.

When we got to the Airport in Shanghai, Pudong we went straight to YCIS which was the school who hosted us. On our first day we had one game and we lost this game. When we finished our game we went back to our hotel for a refreshing shower and my roommate was Taewoong. When we finished our shower we went out for dinner. We also divided into 3 groups and I was with Henry and Taewoong. We went straight to MacDonald’s to eat because most of us were extremely hungry. When we finished our satisfying dinner we went to Carrefour for food supplies and we finished our dinner quite fast.

On Our second day, we had three games. Our first game was a school call Ningbo and we thought they were a piece of cake but when they were in the game they were amazingly well skilled and they beat us so easily. Other games were also like this they beat us so easily. On this day Cole made a goal but Victor kicked the ball into our goalpost. We went out for our dinner with same members. We had Burger King for our dinner but our plan was to buy a box of chicken for our night food but we were all full so we gave up.

Next day we had only one game so we decided to be more active to make a goal but the other team was so good that we didn’t make it. We also went to dinner with all the ACAMIS team. Dinner was delicious and Jack got the MVP medal in our team. Next day was the last day in Shanghai, we woke up at 6o’clock and waited until 9o’clock to eat breakfast and then we went straight to Pudong Airport to go back to Chengdu.

Although, we lost all games, we still experienced some sportsmanship.
